This first class consultancy is strategic in its approach to communication challenges and executes integrated campaigns.  They have a great, forward thinking approach and an infectious hunger which retains staff and are looking for a director to challenge and excite the most intelligent corporate and public affairs professionals. The main part of the role would be supporting with UK and European PA work for their large corporate clients around M&A activities.

They solve client’s communications challenges and build communications solutions which could encompass getting the company on an employee engagement programme, crisis management, financial communications and political policy insight. No day is the same and the breadth of this work is so wide and the learning curve for all is high. 

The Role

Key challenges and opportunities in this Corporate and Public Affairs Director role:

  • Use your corporate and public affairs expertise to offer clients thoughtful political insight, first class issues management and influence broader stakeholder audiences
  • Ability to plan, lead and delivered the full range of public affairs and corporate communications activity including profile-raising events, creating policy and thought leadership and contact-building with Ministers and No 10 Downing Street
  • For exciting brands, you could be running a social media campaign to overturn a Government ruling, developing a stakeholder engagement programme or offering political advice
  • To impress you will need to demonstrate your strategic thinking, media handling abilities and breadth of communications experience
  • Play a key role in new business pitches and develop PR strategies, media positioning, thought leadership strategies
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior team members

The Person

Key attributes and experience for this Corporate and Public Affairs Director role:

  • Corporate and public affairs experience agency experience working at least at associate director level
  • Extremely well connected with solid conservative contacts
  • Ideally have extensive network of contacts across government, politics, media, new media and think-tanks
  • Currently working in a corporate or financial communications agency, at Director level or a highly ambitious Associate Director
  • Any knowledge of capital markets and financial communications is ideal as you will be working alongside them in your role
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to grasp complex concepts and distil them relevantly
  • Must be excited about brands and desire to broaden your experience yet be adept at offering senior level counsel and fantastic political insight
  • To fit in the team, you will be bright with an engaging charm and able to demonstrate how you have gone over and above for your clients
  • You will have a good understanding of business issues and current affairs to be able to offer thoughtful advice
