Flexible hours and culture fit key factors in MMCC recruitment

This week we share this report from a recent roundtable meeting at the REC where recruiters shared their views on the current trends in Marketing, Media, Communication and Creative (MMCC) recruitment.

It’s great to see the positive movements in the UK employment market widely reported in the media recently with unemployment rates revealed as being at their lowest since 2008, is having such a highly favourable effect on the PR job market.  The CIPR report shows that 80% of MMCC employers are actively recruiting over the next three months which points to further positive uplifts in the market for the end of 2014 and encouraging news for recruiters.

Our recent Salary Survey findings present the relevance of culture fit in PR businesses making hiring decisions as well as a more flexible approach to recruitment, which the CIPR report highlights.

It is also interesting to find that the increasing importance of flexible working hours was emphasised and again shows the significance of a more innovative approach to hiring. As a predominantly female industry, PR businesses looking to improve or begin flexible working processes can only be seen as a positive move.
